What was the highlight of Hotel Terradets Cellers
Scenic Views, Comfy Rooms, but Pricy Dining and Service To Be Improved
The room we had was spacious, with a brand new bathroom and a small balcony. The bed was comfy, and the place was really clean. We had breakfast included for our entire stay, and it offered a great selection of options. The lake view is beautiful, and free parking is quite useful.
A few touches would have made our stay better: 1) There wasn't a blanket in our room, even though it's mid-October, so having one available would have been appreciated, despite the heating. Once asked, it was brought to us. 2) Many lake-facing rooms are located above the cafeteria/bar, and the food smell does permeate if you open the windows. 3) The friendliness of the staff at the hotel, including the restaurant and cafeteria, is questionable. Every time you ask them something, it feels like you're inconveniencing them. (This can be mostly experienced during the breakfast.) 4) We also mentioned upfront that our stay was for a special occasion, but it didn't seem to be acknowledged or reinforced by the hotel or restaurant. 5) Since there isn't much happening in the area, it's convenient to rely on the hotel’s restaurant for dinner (or the open buffet for lunch). However, I have to mention that it's quite pricey. I understand you serve locally-sourced food, but 20€ for a buffet menu, where even coffee isn't included, seems unusual. The same goes for dinner – 32.50€ per person for the menu, with most dishes having a 6-10€ supplement that adds up to a lot more.. in the middle of nowhere for prices you’d expect to pay in a city like Barcelona or London.
